Martise Cooks

Martise Cooks has spent over 16 years in the education industry as a student affairs practitioner, consultant, and customer advocate. He holds his Master of Education in Human Services and Counseling with a College Student Development focus. Currently, he leads PowerSchool's advocacy team's engagement efforts that foster community amongst its schools solution-enthusiasts. PowerSchool’s CEO has given him the responsibility of co-facilitating the Council of Education Innovation, an initiative that brings together the brightest minds in education for collaborative conversations.
In his previous role at Campus Labs and OrgSync (now Anthology), he was a member of the Customer Success team, implementing programs that showcased and emphasized student engagement on campuses. He also developed structural processes to be effective and optimize the ENGAGE platform with student affairs leaders. Previously, at DePaul University, he served as the Coordinator for Student Organizations revitalizing student organization engagement initiatives and implementing technology solutions to streamline processes. At Northern Illinois University, Martise also contributed to creating a second-year experience and student conduct board adjudication processes. The mission of Martise remains to help individuals articulate their “why” through intentional engagement and strategic planning. Martise has regularly presented at local and national conferences on topics related to student engagement, organization oversight, and student development theory.
