Darius Robinson

Research and Data Analyst

Darius Robinson has spent over 10 years in the education field within areas of K-12, student affairs, and leadership studies. Currently, Darius is a doctoral candidate studying higher education & leadership at Florida State University. Darius holds a masters degree in College Student Affairs from Rutgers University – New Brunswick and a bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies from Colgate University. In addition to his work with transform.forward, he currently works as an instructor at Florida State University.

Previously, Darius has worked in several education roles. His previous role saw him working in residential life at the University of Nevada, Reno where he oversaw community development, event development and student leader development. Before receiving his masters degree, Darius also worked for multiple non-profit organizations affiliated with AmeriCorps. He has worked for the Episcopal Service Corps, helping rebuilding efforts on Staten Island post-Hurricane Sandy. He has also worked for City Year, serving as a mentor, tutor and role model for students in public schools in Los Angeles.

Darius’ research interests include liberation, pedagogy, leadership education, minoritized populations, qualitative methods, and technology in higher education. Overall, his research looks to represent and humanize students – especially minoritized populations – within higher education structures. In his current dissertation research, he looks to see how minoritized student leaders actionize critical hope to create change in their communities. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals in his area. Darius has also presented at various international conferences on his work and continues to provide service for their sponsoring.
